A jig by Jim Magill (1902-1954) Jim Magill emigrated from Northern Ireland to Toronto in the 1930s where he performed with his band, the Northern Ramblers, for square dances, and was heard on radio station CFRB. He also made a number of 78s. His most famous tune is "The Crooked Stovepipe". A book of his tunes was published by Harry Jarman in 1952.
The video links below are to Don Messer's recording from the '50 and a fiddle lesson (in the Yukon!) by Julie Fitzgerald of Bancroft Ontario.
