Amateur Theatre - Port Maitland, 1817


A production of Oliver Goldsmith's 1773 comedy "She Stoops To Conquer", by sailors of the Royal Navy at the Grand River Naval Depot at what is now Port Maitland, on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Grand River. This ad is from the Niagara Spectator in February 1817.
