A well- known broadside ballad (Circa 1830) about the rise and fall of Napoleon and the hopes of his son. The narrator in the song is Napoleon II speaking to his mother. The "Bonny Bunch of Roses" are the counties of Europe. Sung by Joseph Chisholm (born 1878) in St. Rapheal's, Ontario. Recorded by George Proctor in 1960, for the National Museum of Man, Ottawa. The first few seconds of the song are missing.
