A favourite Ontario fiddle tune written by Wally Traugott (1934-2010) and originally recorded by him in 1959. Traugott played with Tommy Hunter (among many others) and was from Kitchener, Ontario.
After a successful career as a fiddler in Canada he moved to the United States and worked as a mastering engineer for Capitol Records. There he mastered George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band, Paul McCartney's "Band On The Run", "The Beatles At Hollywood Bowl" - and other folks you may be familiar with!
The B flat chords in the second part of the tune are a great "hook" and the continuing bane of unwary guitar players.
