Song
The Weasel Hornpipe
Source: G.W.Bennett MS.
Composer: Trad.
Region: South West
Circa: 1849-1900
Year: 1860

Played by Teilhard Frost, fiddle
You only have to play/hear a few notes to figure out how this hornpipe got it's name. The first bar is the same as the old song "Pop Goes The Weasel". (Although that is usually thought of as being in 6/8) After that it's a completely different tune. Although not written out in a "dotted" rhythm it may have been played more as a clog than it might seem from the music.
