A song collected in the 1930s by Ivan Walton. It describes a schooner trip from Toronto to Charlotte NY (near Rochester) to the Welland Canal. It was composed in the 1880s by Captain Jeremiah Cavanaugh. It is sung to an 18th century tune that has been used for dozens of songs including the "The Dreadnaught".
