"Zion's Glad Morning" sung by Prof. Chalaupka's Celebrated Singing School, 1993
A hymn from "The Philharmonia", a shape-note hymnbook used by Old Order Mennonite singers in the Waterloo area. A group of us spent a couple of winters learning this style of singing from Onias Weber and Old Order singing school teacher and blacksmith. The books are still relatively easy to obtain online. In this arrangement, as in most others from this era, the melody of the song is in the tenor (third) line.
