"The Banks of The Don" sung by O.J. Abbott from The Folkways Recording "Folksongs of Ontario"
When the Don Jail was built in Toronto in 1864 it was thought by some to be "too fine" for the prisoners it housed. Hence the tone of this song. It was finally decommissioned in 2014. It has been given a new life as a health facility.
