Square Jim sings "The Schooner Persia's Crew"
The Schooner Persia was lost in a storm in the northern part of Lake Huron in 1869. She was immortalized in one of the most enduring disaster songs of the Great Lakes. This version is from "Square" Jim MacDonald (1888-1970) Square Jim was a commercial fisherman from Port Dover. This song was recorded on a reel to reel recorder at a party there in about 1961.
