A Scottish slip jig that has still a place in both fiddlers' and pipers' repertoires Also known as: Mad Molly, The Pea Cock Follow the Hen, Brose and Butter, Cuddle Me,Yellow Stockings, As "Brose and Butter" it has a number of lyrics - all bawdy to varying degrees These are some of the tamer lyrics printed by Herd (1776, vol. II, pp. 203-204): Gi'e my love brose, brose, Gi'e my love brose and butter; Gi'e my love brose, brose, Yestreen he wanted his supper Jenny sits up in the laft, Jocky wad fain hae been at her; There came a wind out of the wast, Made a' the windows to clatter. A goose is nae good meat, A hen is boss within; In a pye there's muckle deceit, A pudding it is a good thing.
