"Crooked Stovepipe" is the second tune in this medley - after "Warm Stuff". Played by George Wade and His Cornhuskers. Circa 1936.
This tune is still hugely popular. (in 2024) It is generally thought to have been composed by fiddler Jim Magill, although pianist John Burt gets credit on the sheet music. Both played with George Wade. Burt may have done the arrangement for the sheet music, which appears in the Cornhuskers' book, "Old Time Fiddling' Tunes", 1938.
