There seems to be quite a tradition of Northern Ontario Mining towns having their own theme songs. This is one of several for Kirkland Lake. I'm not sure of the exact date of this. A few years ago a woman named Helen Winkler from Northern Ontario passed on a few songs from Timmins and Porcupine that had been printed in the newspapers up there in the early 20th century.
